We were first introduced to Staffords in 1985 when my brother John decided to buy a Bull Terrier, myself not being very keen on this breed went along with John and Mum to have a look. When we arrived I was surprised to find the puppies looked nothing like Bull Terriers but were in fact Staffordshire Bull Terriers. They were the cutest puppies I had ever seen. I can remember Mum putting her handbag on a chair in their backyard and the Dam of the litter jumped up onto the seat and proceeded to rummage through the bag to see what she could find. Having previously only owned crossbred dogs all our lives we had never encountered the intelligence and cheekiness of this little bitch. That day we came home with a white male puppy called Cyclonic Snowball.
From this day on we were in love and hooked with this breed.
Snowball was the first dog our family had ever had with papers. My sister Karen and I started showing Snowball with some success whilst making a lot of new friends along the way. It was at these early shows I came across Ch. Waurstafford Head Lad were so impressed by this dog that Tony and I purchased a black male puppy by Head Lad who turned out to be our first boy, Aust Ch Waurstafford Great Guy. During this time we became very good friends with Lesley Scott (Waurstafford). Over the past 20 years we have campaigned many of Lesley’s dogs for her. A few months after Guy we purchased an 8 month old little brindle bitch, Aust Ch Foremark Flash Dancer.
We had enormous success in SA, Victoria, NSW and the Northern Territory with these two lovely dogs and have been going strong ever since.
