First Yorkie Yule Fest

The inaugural
Yorkie Yule Fest was held in 2002 at Wallerawang, NSW

The logo above was kindly designed for us then by Henny from The Netherlands
and has been used ever since.

The Yorkie Yule Fest was the 'brainstorm' of Jan of Yetholme Yorkies and
Di Murray.  The aim was to bring yorkie-lovers together for a day of fun with other people
and their yorkies. It has grown from strength to strength both in numbers and in enthusiasm
with people attending from as far afield as Hawaii, Singapore, New Zealand and
most States of Australia.

Unfortunately, this was back in the days before any of us had digital cameras so
the quality of the photos we took on that occasion leave a lot to be desired
and are not good enough to be shown here.

On that occasion, however, many friendships were formed; people discovered that not only
did they have their love of yorkies in common, but many other interests as well.

It soon became evident that it would be great to be able to keep in touch as a group  so the OzYorkieRipples chat list was commenced.

People were invited to visit each other if in the 'neighbourhood' and not only did this take in the local scene, but overseas as well.  It truly is quite remarkable how many of us have met others on the group, and where they've been met, in all parts of the world including Australia, England, New Zealand, USA, Canada.

Some of these meetings will be shown on following pages, complete with pics, eg., Yule Fest in Tasmania and Hawaii, visits to Crufts 2006 and 2008.

Proposed club for Yorkie people....    By popular demand, at this year’s Yorkie Yulefest (28th November)
we are going to hold a short meeting to start what we hope will become the Greater
Western (NSW) Yorkshire Terrier Club. Copies of the proposed Constitution will be available
on the day. We will be voting to (1) form the club, and (2) work towards affiliation with the
Royal NSW Canine Council.  The aim is to provide a 'service' for ALL yorkie owners and
enthusiasts, not just breeders/exhibitors.
The initial cost to join will be $5.00. Membership forms will be available on the day.
You do NOT need to own a Yorkie to join; just be a Yorkie Lover.
Once we have tallied the membership forms, we will call the meeting
to order and vote on the above agenda.

If you can’t make it to the Yulefest, but would still like to be part of this
'ground-breaking' exciting new venture, the GWYTC, then email
Jan Clarke -
yorkies@yetholmeyorkies.com
- for a membership form
and/or further information.

All inaugural members will be named in the Constitution.
