Thank You Rose for the joy of owing this cartoon

Aug 08
My boy Rusty "Ch Cliftop Stealin Gold" whom I exported to Germany in Aug 08 has taken BOB at his very first show in Germany "The German Terrier Club Show" with stiff competion  it is the first time Rusty has been shown indoors and he had no trouble with it at all.

Sept 08
I took My Glen and an Aussie to earthdogs in sept 08 and Pixie the Aussie said no way am I going up that black hole. will have to try again with her.  Astri the Glen also said no way but as I put her lead back on she took off up the tunnel and actually found the quarry and worked it for the required time when the judge said call your dog one call and she came flying out backwards and almost knocked me over.  she was given a fail on her first attempt but in the second (with lead on) passed unoffically. so I think we have a earthdog to go.  because of Astri's size and the size of the tunnels she can get up them ok but cannot turn around in them so she has to back up she had no trouble with that so will continue with her and the Aussie and maybe get a earthdog title for them. We can but try and I like to see dogs doing what they were bred to do

2009

Ist news for 09 is that Diane Riley is allowing me to have BAXTER "NZ CH TASDALE LAST GIFT"  for a few mths.  Baxter is a Multi In Group and In Show Winner in NZ includes BEST IN SHOW WINS  and he is coming to be made up to an AUS CH,  hopefully with the same winning ways as he has had in NZ. Baxter will also be allowed at stud to approved bitches. He will be in joint names so Diane knows where he is used.  I have just loved Baxter since he was a baby and feel very privileged too be entrusted with this magnificant dog.

Jan =  Try has her 11th birthday on the 29th =

Rusty in Germany has passed his breeding test and can now be used for breeding. We cerainly have it easy here in this country for breeding compared with what they have to do in Germany and without the breeding cert. they cannot use the dog at all.

Feb =  Baxter arrived on the 11th and was at his first show on the 14th at Clifton Ag Show. where he took BOB so has started his pts for his title.   What a sweet tempered boy he is and although only here for 2weeks he has settled well  I amgoing to enjoy having him here.

Once again thank you all for your support of Fin.     Fin will be put to sleep.  He is not rehousable and this is not all Toms fault as  he did have a problem or two when tom took him.  The only beef I had with tom was the condition of the dog. and this is now finished with as far as I am concerned. pity tom & friends couldn't do the same

FIn is now at the Rainbow Bridge

Mar =  Baxter is now into his showing with 4 Champ shows and 1 open show  taking BOB at all and 3 Runnerup in Group and 2 Open class Group = 2 of his Runnerups no class as the BIG was out of open class.   I am very pleased with the way Baxter shows for me  he has also been enjoying the girls coming to him from Tasmania and NSW and one of mine  so we will be seeing Baxter puppies in the ring before the year is out.   Next week is Toowoomba Royal

Well Toowoomba Royal is over and I did no good at all I never seem to do any good under South African Judges at all, still I had a lovely day out with my friends and catching up on others. It was a long day but arrived home feeling good. Imagine my horror on being met at the front gate by 2 dogs when I arrived at the house the gate was wide open and the kennel gate also was wide open to allow the dogs their freedom. then I find that the small tank by the house had had the tap ripped out so that the water had all drained out.  also the brand new poly tank had had a screwdriver hammered into it to make a hole and drain out the water (someones idea of a sick joke) I put a screwdriver into the hole and stopped the flow so didn't lose too much from it.  The owner is not happy at all and it has been reported to the police, they asked me if I knew anyone who would like to do this I could only think of one person who would want to have a go at me. still with no proof whoever did it will get away with it. trouble is it wasn't me they have hurt but the owners of the property. The hole has now been fixed and I still have lots of water. so all good.

May = Had a few shows in April Baxter picked up some challenges in the double figures  so that was good. On the 23rd May at Esk ag show Baxter took Best of Breed again  and got the last challenge for his Aus title. I have sent the paperwork off to the CCC so just have to wait on that now.  it took only 10 shows to get the points.  GO BAXTER   Baxter also has had a BEST IN GROUP/OPEN GROUP at Ipswich Kennel Club show (open show) Durack under Judge Mr D Laird.  A BIG THANK YOU TO THE JUDGES WHO APPRECIATED BAXTER'S QUAILTY and GAVE HIM THE AWARDS.
My wee girl Dash is holding her own in the ring she is 10mths now and looking good. she is picking up a few challs/res challs/ Rubreed awards. with stiff competion.  I am very pleased with her.

June =  Well half the year gone and the rumours keep flying I believe I am a puppy farmer according to certain people well I'm real good at it I mated 3 bitches and got 1 litter of 3 pups  what a good puppy farmer I am!!!!!!!!   It's amazing how people who dislike you have to spread rumours of things they know nothing about.  After all if you are not a friend or speak to a person how can you  know their business to tell everyone else about it.  But at least if they are talking about me they are leaving some other poor person alone.

Well Dash was Chall bitch RU breed from the puppy class at her last show with good comp she also went Puppy Group  her last time in Puppy   as she turns one year on July 3rd. and her next show is the Aussie club show July 12th.   Baxter continues to delight he has to have a play with his rabbit (soft toy) every evening before bed.

Diane has decided that Baxter can stay a bit longer in Aus so he will not go home next mth as planned but will be here at least to the end of the year.

The Australian Terrier Club has been discussing the tails and how to word the undocked tail for the breed standard.  NSW seems to want only a straight tail which I think is yuk it is not a balanced look   I like to see a curl over at the top  I agree that it should not be touching the back but it should be allowed over the back  Personally I think that the docked standard of not over the back is stopping the common sense approach that the top of the undocked tail will curl over even a dog whose tail is straight up will curl over at times.  I guess that it is a wait and see at the moment Vic & Qld clubs are agreeable but NSW club seems to want its own way????   will see what happens.

Had a lovely but short visit from Zuzana (Germany) Rustys owner) while she was on holiday here for 3 weeks she landed in Brisbane and drove through to NSW & Vic flying home from Melbourne.  I hope her trip was worth it and she had a good time.

My grandson Jacob down on the gold coast now has his own puppy one of Missy's boys he has named him paris  (don't know where that came from) but he is enjoying his puppy.

Nov = well the Melbourne cup show was a good day Deb, Jodie and I bought lunch and had a ladys day out the dogs went well with Baxter being chall dog & runnerup breed Deb's Jack (wanora the drover) was res chall dog.  with the baby's Deb had Buster & Ruby (wanora last anzac & wanora last gem ) and I had shadow (wanora last gift)  shadow beat his brother and then his sister to be baby breed.  it will be fun to watch these 3 as they grow. Deb's 2 are very nice so I think they will take turns depending on the judge on the day.

Diane has decided not to take Baxter home to NZ and he will live with his first owner  at Redcliffe.  Baxter will leave here on the 21st nov and will still be available for stud work through me.  Baxter is a very lucky boy having 3 mums.  Have 3 more shows this month so will let you all know how we go.
Well we went to Caboolture show and with Myself and Tibbits there we had a baby boy each and one adult bitch each Shadow was baby breed and Fran's Emma was chall bitch BOB and Dash was res chall and RU breed  then the following weekend we were at Coominya for the Lockyer Valley Shows Myself, Deb & Tibbits were there we had 3 baby boys & 3 baby girls entered.  sat boys Shadow was first  Debs boy buster was second and Frans red boy was 3rd  girls  Frans red was first my Wart was second and Debs Ruby was third  Frans girl was baby breed   Sun  Red boy was first Shadow second Buster third  girls Wart fist red girl second and Ruby third. red boy baby breed it was great to see so many babies out together ther is only a couple of weeks between all of them so it will be fun next year fighting it out in the classes.

Dec = Cheekys puppies are growing well and starting to follow me in the mornings for our farm walk.   it is funny to watch them running through the grass (long for them)  I will keep two of them (boy & girl) and 1 boy will be shown in NSW and 1 girl will be shown in Vic the last boy will go to a pet home and I hope they all do well for their respective owners.   my two will be called Zac & Utu  (Zac of course is short for Anzac)  if he is good enough he will be off to Germany when he is 6/7 mths.  I have put in for the name "Taufield Anzac Utu" as both parents are NZ born and he is of course Aus born.  utu is a Maori word meaning revenge. hope he is.  (got the name -his sister is Taufield Sweet Utu)

My two new pups Wart & Shadow both sired by Baxter

         Wart about 9wks                        Wart 15wks
Wart on a walk about 9wks old                                           Wart about 15 wks  just sitting

         Shadow 11weeks                 Shadow racing home
Shadow  about 11 wks old                                                  Shadow racing up the paddock home

 2010

JAN   Well the new year crept up quick  I had good rain in Dec so a full tank and grass up to my knees in the paddock.  losing the dogs in it.  It is funny to watch them leaping through the long stuff.   Faye has had her babies all Red and 2 female 2 male they were born early and the first girl was only 100gms born she has come along in leaps & bounds and is looking good. Faye is very protective of her when I clean the bedding she picks up the little one and hops back in with her leaves me to put the others back. I often see her getting the little one close to her. and when I weigh them she nudges me when I do the little one.  Faye is a good mum   I have decided to move Cheeky on to a pet home  she has done her bit for me did well in the ring and gave me 2 good litters.   she can retire now and be spoilt by someone.

here is a photo of Try who will be 12 next week 29th  as you can see she has all but disappeared into the grass
Try in the long grass            Zac and Utu trying to escape
Zac & Utu on their kennel roof  (ratbags)

Have started showing 2 at Toowoomba and 2 at Wondai  Babies did well Shadow baby Breed at toowoomba and Wart Baby Breed at Wondai
we have competion as well so is good.  Shadow has now turned 6mths and Wart will soon by the next lot of shows in Feb.  Zac & Utu have their first shows in Feb.  I have my friend Debbie's dog Jack "Wanora The Drover" staying for a few months to take showing   Deb is very busy with her horses so no time for dog shows.  Hope we can do well with Jack for her he is a very quiet dog but a sweetie.

FEB  Well Jack has had 5 shows and picked up 3 challenges  so that good. gets him on his way.  pups did well at their first shows Zac beating his sister Utu at both shows.   Feb has been a bit of a blur for me  first I had a toothache and when the dentist xrayed it the roots were in the bone, so after it was pulled the pain was worse I think than the toothache. it went on for about 10 days  but as I was cutting back on painkillers a bug snuck in and laid me low with flu  I spent 3 days in bed just getting up to see to dogs and going back to bed.  Now I am feeling more normal but still a bit weak on it and as I did hardly any housework I have a mile of it to do. WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!!
Jack has settled in well and is just one of the kids. he loves his cuddles and enjoys the farm walks.  I have to get back into them as we have had very short ones lately.

Muffin has started to act old and follows me every where at the moment = she is not going her own way anymore. Her legs are starting to go she is very stiff now and walks like she is sore. she fell down the steps  a couple of days ago when a puppy was sitting on one and she trod on it (didn't see it at all)  she is becoming unsure of herself.   Muffin is 14 1/2 yrs old now  she is my darling and I hope I am brave enough when the time comes for her.  Muffin is "Aus Ch Negura The Heartthrob"  and I will always thank the Ness's for giving me the chance to have this lovely girl. she has been a joy to me always and has given me some beautiful pups over the years.
